April 26, Saturday. The first session of True North Fitness Boot Camp was launched at the Army Support Command Grounds (ASCOM), Taguig City. Organized by the same team who’ll stage the Guerilla Race on June 29, 2014, this fitness boot camp is based on standard Philippine military training. It’s designed to prepare participants of the Guerilla Race Warrior Leg but accepts non-participants. It’s open for all.
I can’t remember how long it was. Almost 2 hours, perhaps. My attention was focused on the exercises I completely forgot about the time. It’s complete with warmup, stretching, easy jogging, and cool down. 4 Philippine soldiers led the main exercise routine. We were sweating the whole time but it was so much fun.
Chris Everingham of the Philippine Volcanoes was there and participated in the session. He’s the official endorser of True North Fitness Boot Camp and the Guerilla Race. When it’s off-season, he goes around organizations talking about wellness, stress management, and overall health and fitness. You and your friends might want to join him on the next session.
